About the project

The eponymous project of the Italian association “Humanity Inside War” is designed to help the youth community to study history firsthand, it also calls for discussing wars for a more complete understanding of the tragic events taking place in the war and post-war period. The project “Humanity Within War” focuses on individual and collective aspects of humanity within the framework of military events, as well as the desire to highlight elements and situations that go in the direction of respect for the opponent, man or woman, even if he wears a different uniform or belongs to a different culture.

The project “Humanity Inside War” is based on the historical novel by Ferdinando Pascolo “ “What an amazing guy”. In the novel, the author describes his personal life up to the last days of the Second World War. Ferdinand Pascolo (alias “Silla”) is an Italian soldier originally from Friuli, who initially fought on the territory of the USSR, and then in the guerrilla resistance against the fascist regime in Italy.

The organizer of the 2nd International Competition is the Association “Humanity inside the War” (Republic of Italy).
